The Academy of Certified Human Resource Professionals (ACHRP) was founded in 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya to realise a lifelong dream: to bring the heart of a teacher into the practice of human resources. A persistent gap was observed — training that was often inaccessible, overly theoretical, or unaffordable — and a decision was made to reshape continuous professional development by prioritising applied learning, ethical practice, and digital fluency so real workplace problems could be solved by practitioners.
ACHRP was built on the conviction that people must be empowered, innovation must be driven, and leaders who design resilient, inclusive organisations must be cultivated. Practical certification pathways, short CPD modules, and corporate solutions were developed to address HR auditing, employee wellness, digital HR and data protection, disciplinary management, and strategic leadership. It was insisted that every programme deliver measurable workplace impact while remaining affordable and relevant to diverse contexts.
What began in Nairobi in 2016 has grown into an institution with international presence; in 2025 ACHRP was incorporated in Delaware, USA, strengthening governance and partnership opportunities while practical relevance was preserved. Rigorous certification standards, mentorship, and cross?border collaboration are championed so graduates are led to act with integrity, adapt with resilience, and create workplaces where people thrive.
